Grant-awarding organization: funding from the Government of Japan.
Study areas: development-related fields (Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration or other development-related technical disciplines).
Level: Master.
Grant duration: 2 years.
Eligibility:
• Be a citizen of one of the borrowing member countries of the Bank.
• Be under the age of 35, and in exceptional cases, under 45.
• Hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in the social sciences, business or public administration, or another development-related technical discipline.
• Have obtained his/her university degree with superior grades.
• Have at least two years of work experience in a public agency or in an organization devoted to research or teaching.
• Be currently admitted, but have not yet begun studies, in a Master's degree program in the social sciences, business or public administration, or another development-related technical discipline.
• Be prepared to return to his/her native country upon completion of studies and work for at least two years in order to apply enhanced knowledge and skills toward helping accelerate economic and social development.
• Not be an Executive Director, their alternate, staff, long-term Consultant of the IADB, a blood relative up to the fourth degree, or a relative by marriage up to the second degree.
Grant amount: the scholarship provides benefits covering full tuition, university medical and accident insurance, an installation allowance, a monthly subsistence allowance, a book allowance, and economy class travel.
